Being so tired you can barely function, saying yes to everything that comes your way and bending over backwards for clients may have been the norm in your 9-5, but that’s not a template to carry into your own business.
13 years ago as a newbie freelancer I did just that, and it sent me into a spiral of low self-worth and depression that meant my first stab at business failed spectacularly.
These days I have done the work to repair the damage caused by years inside toxic, misogynistic workplaces where senior men spoke over me in boardrooms and CEO’s belittled my abilities in favour of their ego-driven agenda.
But I know many women are emerging from this environment in search of freedom, independence and flexibility, and yet they are subconsciously re-creating the exact conditions which drove them away in the first place.
Being of service to others is not about people-pleasing your way to burn out, but learning how to create a sustainable, peaceful and profitable business model that gives you ease and enjoyment, daily.

ABOUT CEELS LOCKLEY
Ceels Lockley is an Offer Strategy Consultant based in the UK, working with service providers, freelancers, consultants and agency owners. Ceels specialises in consulting, guiding and coaching in niche marketing, offer suite design and messaging.
With over 20 years experience in digital marketing, Ceels’ background includes social media and creative direction for Sony Mobile and Habitat as well as leading digital editorial and content for Tesco Magazine. Ceels left her agency career in 2019 to pursue self-employment to work around her baby daughter, and has since built a thriving coaching and strategy business.
Ceels hosts the Peaceful Service Pro podcast, a weekly show aimed at service providers who desire peace and profit in business. With over 100+ episodes and 45,000 downloads, the podcast features a blend of mindset and strategy tips as well as guest experts.
